The Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park will be a lasting tribute to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The memorial is intended for ANY veteran who has served honorably, living or deceased or whom is currently serving. Local residency is not required or applicable.
The project is a joint effort including citizens in the Manawa Area Community along with local Veterans Organizations and the City of Manawa.
The memorial includes a monument recognizing each branch of the armed forces and flag poles to display the colors of our nation. The Veterans Park is located on the former swimming beach located on Lake Manawa.
Our vision is to have our Veterans Park cherished and utilized by members of the community along with visitors of Manawa. We envision kayaks launching from the pier, fishing lines cast from the handicap accessible dock, celebrations happening in the shelter and children playing on the splash pad on a hot summer’s day.
